How it Works

The Lunula Cold Laser has 2 low level laser beams working together.

  • Blue laser beam(405nm). This laser kills the fungal cells.
  • Redlaser beam(635nm). This wavelength increases blood flow to the area, bringing nutrients and extra immune cells to the area which speeds up the treatment process.

Laser therapy is a new treatment for nail fungus. It is highly successful, quick, easy and has no side effects!.

Assessment & Treatment

  1. Assessment and diagnosis – your podiatrist will look closely at your nails and ask multiple questions specifically about your nails to work out the diagnosis and the cause of the condition.
  2. Photographs will be taken– to show before and after pictures.
  3. Nails will be filed back– A special drill will be used to reduce the thickness in your nails to prepare them for the laser treatment.
  4. Lanula laser– All 10 nails will be treated irrespective of how many fungal nails you have. This will ensure that any non- visible fungal spores on the other nails will be treated. Each foot takes 12 minutes.
  5. Shoe sterilisation– while your nails are being treated your shoes will be placed on our Steri-Shoe system. 99% of fungal spores will be eliminated immediately in your shoes.
  6. Education– A detailed foot hygiene routine will be explained to ensure reinfection doesn’t occur.

Tips to avoid reinfection

  • Avoid nail salons that don’t use sterile instruments
  • Treat your shoes and socks with an antifungal spray daily
  • Put your shoes out in the sun regularly to dry out
  • See your podiatrist immediately for further treatment if you notice any discolouration in your nails

Don’t let fungal nails stop you from showing your feet this summer, going to the beach or wearing the sandals you love.
